LOS ANGELES, July 30, 2018 – IntelliFlux® Controls has installed its MF/UF self-adaptive expert control software at Coway EnTech’s 10,000 cubic meter per day (2.6 MGD) Build-Own-Operate (BOO) Wastewater Reuse Treatment Facility located in Incheon, South Korea. This full-scale implementation follows the successful 3-month trial of IntelliFlux software at the plant on a smaller, side-stream pilot unit.
IntelliFlux Controls and Coway EnTech initially conducted a three-month trial of IntelliFlux software on Coway EnTech’s Woong-cheon ultrafiltration MBR system in 2017. During the trial, IntelliFlux autonomously controlled and optimized the membrane system resulting in 8% less frequent cleaning and down-time, 34% less energy consumption, and 2.1% increased system net yield (94% to 96.1%).
Coway EnTech provides optimal and efficient total water treatment solutions to its clients around the globe including water treatment, wastewater treatment, reuse systems, zero liquid discharge, and industrial wastewater treatment. At the Incheon Wastewater Reuse Treatment facility, Coway EnTech sustainably treats municipal wastewater with advanced water treatment technology to provide high-quality process water to a steel plant. Coway EnTech’s selection of the IntelliFlux software will increase the plant production while minimizing energy and chemical consumption in an eco-friendly manner.
“The IntelliFlux automation software is a pioneering example of smart water innovation, which we are excited to work with as a partner,” said Coway EnTech C.E.O. Juno Jung. “We are pleased to benefit from IntelliFlux’s intelligent optimized operations and increased production at our Incheon water treatment facility while also sustainably reducing our energy and chemical consumption.”
“We have been constantly impressed working together with the extremely talented water treatment experts at Coway EnTech,” said IntelliFlux Controls CEO Subir Bhattacharjee, Ph.D. “As one of IntelliFlux Controls’ earliest customers in the Asia Pacific market, Coway EnTech embodies a rare spirit of innovation in a traditionally conservative industry and has a forward-looking perspective to seek new technologies that deliver more value to its customers.”
Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, Coway EnTech provides the most optimal and efficient total water treatment solutions to its clients. Coway EnTech maintains the biggest reference list of reuse systems in Korea and additionally many other membrane treatment references throughout the world. Its solutions cover various forms of water treatment systems including water and wastewater treatment, reuse, zero liquid discharge as well as industrial wastewater treatment for such industries as petrochemicals, oil refineries, oil & gas, power and steel.
